Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Chief of Defence Forces General (GEN) Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning. During their meeting, Dr Ng thanked GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad for his contributions in furthering bilateral cooperation and deepening people-to-people ties between the Singapore Armed Forces and the MAF.
GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad, who is in Singapore from 20 to 21 January 2025 for his farewell visit, also called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF.
GEN Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohammad’s visit underscores the warm and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. Both countries’ armed forces interact regularly across a wide range of activities, including bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits and professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, as well as through multilateral platforms like the Five Power Defence Arrangements, the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM), and ADMM-Plus. Such interactions have strengthened mutual understanding and professional ties between the personnel of both armed forces.
